LinkedIn: You’re Now Tagged

by Suzanne Vara on January 26, 2010

is making it easier to find and communicate with your contacts with the newly .  Over the next few weeks all users will be tagged by how the connection was made (ie via a group, employer, classmate, etc). The tagging is just a part of the new changes as the search function is being expanded to search for connections by their first name, last name, current company, location and industry.  Curious as to who your contacts are adding to their network? LinkedIn solves this with the recent activity filter which allows you to browse your connections by those who have expanded their network with new connections.  These changes are a part of the efforts to increase communication and usability amongst connections. LinkedIn has provided a sneak peak of the new pages:

LinkedIn redesigned address book

Not happy with the assigned tags?  You can organize your groups that fit your needs as with the new tagging system, you can send an email to the entire tagged group.  As if these changes were not enough, mini-profiles are being introduced as a quick way to look up phone numbers, email addresses or send a message a quick message via a new column on the right. Resemble Twitter Lists? Maybe but LinkedIn does the work for you by getting you started  with the automatic tagging.

Does the newly redesigned address book change the way that you will use and interact with connections on LinkedIn?
